Straight outta pareene. Charen’s been a waking nightmare since way before I started blogging, but here are some of her greatest hits at alicublog:

• Advising conservatives to become artists so they can make rightwing propaganda;

• Flipping out because Bloomingdales was selling dogtags that said “Peace” and “Love”;

• Her Christmas column “‘Tis the Season for Porn”;

• Declaring Democrats “less patriotic than Republicans” (when the Democrats took the House in 2006, she said they were unpatriotic too);

• Reading a blistering report from Iraq and saying how grateful she is that the mistakes she and her fellow wingnuts made it ginning up that war were “well-intentioned ones”;

• “Lefties… can exult in cases like [Larry] Craig’s only because this supposedly makes him a hypocrite. But what if he’s not a hypocrite? Suppose, as my admittedly hasty search suggests, he’s been pretty quiet about family values? Doesn’t that mean the Democrats should be defending him?”
